About the Artist

I have worked within the arts and creative industries throughout my career. After completing art college, I went on to earn a degree in Performance Costume and Make-up, before building a successful career in prosthetic make-up for television and film. I worked in specialist effects workshops and on TV sets creating, painting and applying prosthetics for productions including the BBC's Doctor Who.

Alongside my industry work, I have spent over 15 years teaching creative arts and specialist make-up for screen at degree level, developing a broad and highly skilled artistic practice.

My work is rooted in a fascination with faces—both human and animal. This has naturally evolved into my focus on oil painting, where I create modern, realistic portraits from photographic references. Combining my love of colour with premium, high-pigment oil paints, I carefully craft each piece to capture not only a true likeness, but also the presence, personality, and character of my subjects.
